HOW IT WORKS
How it Works
The “Hallam News” is published for the diocese by Bellcourt Limited who also publish a number of papers for other dioceses. They handle all the advertising. If you wish to place an advert you can obtain the details of the cost by telephoning Bellcourt, 01636 613341.
The Editor of the “Hallam News” is Christine Dodd. She is responsible for the local news that goes into the first eight pages of the paper. Bellcourt arrange the news which is in pages 9-12.
The paper has no paid reporters or photographers. It relies on local people sending in news.
A typical month’s schedule works like this.
Material from around the diocese is sent in by the first of the month.
This material is edited and laid out and
pages are sent electronically to Bellcourt, where it is sub-edited ready for
publication. Proofs are sent back to
the diocese,
(usually the day after the material is sent by us).
These are checked and the paper goes to press.
Bellcourt employ a delivery company to deliver copies to the parishes, where they should be available to parishioners on the fourth Sunday of the month.
