THE WORK
Home Page
The work of The School's Department is wide and varied.
It exists to offer advice and support to governors, senior managers,
teachers, staff and parents in an endeavour to maintain and develop the Catholic
identity of our schools as part of the mission of the Church.
The financial contribution made by schools helps to safeguard and develop
Catholic Education across the Diocese. None of our Catholic schools are
autonomous institutions and while support is available to all schools
irrespective of status, priority will always be given to those where the need is
greatest.
Advice and support is provided by:
- overseeing the appointment of Foundation Governors.
- providing a training and support programme for governors.
- a recruitment and advertising service for teaching posts.
- attendance at governors' meetings when required.
- direct support for Chairman of Governors.
